Heartburn and Acid Reflux-Which Foods Should I Eat?

The primary cause of this condition will be what you are putting in your mouth.There are certain foods that cause heartburn and acid reflux. Cut down on the portions, get rid of the foods which are bad for you, and you could find yourself free from heartburn permanently.
There are lots of people who suffer with this condition. Some people can suffer with this condition worse than others. This condition doesn’t set in at a certain age. Children and adults can suffer with it.
The symptoms of acid reflux can be uncomfortable or very painful. It is not a condition that you will want to ignore, as in time it can lead to serious problems. So if you have it, do something about it before it reaches a more serious stage.
Your diet can be the primary cause of your acid reflux and heartburn. Consuming a large amount of food at one sitting results in your stomach having to produce larger amounts of acid to break the food down. Stop eating big meals, cut down on the portions and eat more regularly.
The types of food that you eat can also make a huge difference. Stay clear of foods which are high in acid. This can go a long way in giving you less heartburn pain
This will mean reducing your intake of foods which are spicy. Foods that are high in fat and sugar. Yes we all know we should eat plenty fruit, but stay away from citrus fruits altogether, these contain acid, you don’t want to be putting more acid into your body.
The objective is to restore your body’s alkaline balance. This can be achieved by adding more vegetables to your diet. Try to eat vegetables in their raw form. Try juicing them if you can’t manage them in a raw state. The primary focus should be on dark leafy vegatables
Try adding vegetables such as cabbage, sprouts, carrots, brocolli, and green beans to your diet. Not only does the consumption of these types of vegetables decrease the acidity in your body, they will also be beneficial for all types of internal health. Ginger is great for helping the symptoms of excessive stomach acid.
As a way of getting rid of acid reflux and heartburn pain, a lot of people use antacid treatments, but they will not be a long term solution to the problem. You might get some relief but it won’t last long.
So in conclusion avoid the foods that cause heartburn and acid reflux. Try to eat smaller meals. Also try to get some exercise, as that too can be helpful.
