If it seems like people have been on a green tea binge as of late, you’ve got that healthy habit down. I am so very excited about all the positive research about the benefits of green tea. The great reports keep coming out. However, don’t take my word for it. I’m just your friendly neighborhood science-reporting beauty goddess. (and yes, that is my official title) Instead, you can look at the information I gathered available everywhere:

2001 International Journal of Cancer
Green tea can help keep many chronic diseases at bay. This was a study that was done using people and not animals, for analysis. Mice, fish and green tea were not studied together. China is where they studied the effects of green tea on people.

2003 International Journal of Cancer
Green tea has been found to interfere with some types of cancer and angiogenesis. Cancer will not develop without the presence of angiogenesis in your cells. The healthy habit of green tea can actually help inhibit the growth of cancer already in existence.

2006 Journal of American Medical Association
Green tea also contributes to a decreased cancer deaths. This study showed that people who drank more green tea tended to have lower mortality rates due to cancer. In short, green tea appeared to help them avoid or recover from cancer more effectively.

2009 American Journal of Epidemiology
Green tea will also help to prohibit blood and lymph cancers. A new Japanese study indicates that drinking 5 liquid cups of green tea each day can reduce the probability of developing these issues by up to 50 percent.

Those are just four reasons out of thousands.

So, as you have read, green tea is truly a healthy habit you should keep. If not already a habit, start drinking green tea now and make it a habit. Believe me, its so much better and better for you than trying to start some new bad habit. Either make your own tea or take it in supplement form. It’s ok if you don’t like the taste, just take it in a capsule. This is a healthy habit you can feel good about indulging in, for it will only prolong your life and the beauty of your skin.
